The Importance of Hand Washing
Thorough hand-washing helps reduce and prevent the spread of infection.
Wash your hands when you have been out of the house and in public areas, before and after handling food, immediately after coughing or sneezing, after using a tissue or handkerchief, when eating, and after going to the toilet.
Use running water, wet hands, use liquid soap or a bar of soap, ensure you have a good lather, rub hands together for at least 20 seconds. Try to wash all the parts of your hands paying special attention to your nails and cuticles. Rinse with water and towel dry with a clean towel.
