Teriyaki Salmon can be a real taste treat if your taste buds have taken a hit from your treatment and you have taste & smell changes.

Adding in wasabi will stimulate other senses in your mouth making this recipe a hit. You will also get a whole load of protein from the fish and your muscles will thank you for that.

To make this recipe easy on a tired body, use store bought teriyaki sauce.

Ingredients

2 salmon fillets
Wasabi paste, to taste

Teriyaki Sauce

2½ tablespoons reduced salt soy sauce
1 tablespoon honey or rice malt syrup or maple syrup
1 clove garlic, crushed or ½ teaspoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon minced ginger
1 teaspoons sesame oil

Quick & Easy Fried Rice

450g packet cooked brown or long grain rice
¼ cup frozen peas
2 spring onions, finely sliced
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon reduced salt soy sauce
2 teaspoons rice malt syrup or mirin

Directions

Place all the teriyaki sauce ingredients into a bowl and stir until the sugar has dissolved. Place the salmon in the same bowl and and turn to thoroughly coat. Cover and place in the fridge to marinate no less than 20 minutes and no more than 2 hours.
Place a non-stick frying pan over a medium heat and add the salmon fillets skin side down. Keep the remaining marinade in the bowl. Cook for a few minutes and then add the remaining marinade over the fish. Turn the salmon and continue cooking until done to your liking. Brush the salmon with the marinade in the pan throughout the cooking process.
Add a small amount of wasabi paste on the salmon when serving. Serve on homemade fried rice, creamy mashed potato.

Quick & Easy Fried Rice

Cook rice according to packet instructions. In a non-stick pan, heat the sesame oil and add the remaining ingredients. Cook stirring until the vegetables have softened. Add the rice and stir to combine.
